Recently, I was looking for a dowloadable version of the Bible that I could listen to that hopefully wouldn't put me to sleep. To my surprise I found more than I could ever have imagined! I found a dramatized version that is absolutely amazing.
I recorded the story of Sodom and Gomorrah as an example of what it's like.
(I recieved an email during the recording. Sorry.)
I hope you will listen.
I promise I'm not getting anything from audible.com or the publisher of the Bible or anyone else. I just love this audio Bible, and I know that audible.com is a cost effective way to buy it. (The entire CD collection is $100 on Amazon.)
I listen to it all the time and I am learning so much that I never would have learned by just reading the Bible. For instance, did you notice in the audio clip that when God was saving Lot's life he told Lot to go to the mountain. Lot whined and said he didn't want to go all the way to the mountain and asked if God would spare a nearby city so they could go there instead. We see a glimpse of God's patience here as he tells Lot he can go to the city instead of the mountain. The next night Lot went to the mountain anyway because he was scared to remain in the city. I also realized that the men of Sodom wanted Lot to give them the men who were visiting so that they could rape them in a homosexual manner. Lot didn't want to do that so he offered his virgin daughters up for the gang rape instead.
I can't tell you how many times I've read the story of Lot and never picked up on all the small details like this.
I hope that you will consider buying this audio Bible if it's something you think you would listen to.
Soon I will start sharing all the things I am learning from my audio Bible.
